My teaching career began at the University of Vermont with an undergraduate in Secondary Education in 2006. Currently, I am nearing the completion of a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UVM. This will be my fifth year teaching and my enthusiasm for the profession continues to grow. I look forward to this work each and every day. I cannot tell you what a privilege it is for me to teach here in Milton. I am surrounded by dedicated colleagues, supportive families, and, most importantly, by students who continually show their unique intelligence, humor, and kind-heartedness in so many ways. Thank you to my students who teach me more than they know!

Why I am here :
I believe that children are our future. As the oldest of six and the mother of four nurturing is a large part of my experience. Teaching gives me a sense of purpose and challenge. My goal is to work together throughout the year moving all students forward.
My formal training in education is based on a Bachelors of Science in Science Education. I completed an additional thirty-six credit hours of math which allowed me earn an endorsement in math. I then earned a Masters of Science from Binghamton University.
Our family moved to Vermont in January of 1994 and we have come to love it here. We appreciate the many venues that are available, allowing our family to pursue and enjoy many diversified activities.
It is a privilege to work for the Town of Milton.

Science
My name is Robert DeCicco and I have the distinctive pleasure of teaching 7th and 8th grade science on Team Tucana. I graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. in Psychology and a Biology minor in 2001. I enjoy working with middle school students and believe that adolescence, in particular, is an important developmental period in their lives. I seek to educate the whole student and try to spark wonderment and awe in each person about life and the world around us. This is my 5th year teaching in this wonderful community. I look forward to the 2011-12 school year with enthusiasm!
